Holding the Both/And
space for what is unspoken
We live in a culture obsessed with binary thinking: good or bad, right or wrong, strong or struggling, fixed or broken. We are taught that if we feel anxious, angry, or disconnected, something has gone fundamentally off track.
Human experience rarely fits into an either/or frame:
You can deeply love your partner and feel lonely inside the relationship.
You can feel profound gratitude for your life and grieve the paths or parts of yourself you left behind.
You can be an exceptionally capable, high-functioning adult and feel entirely overwhelmed by your family of origin or changing roles.
You can understand why you react the way you do and still feel powerless to change it in your body.
"Both/And" is an invitation to put down the exhaustion of trying to force your life into simple answers. When we stop fighting the contradiction, we create the room needed for genuine clarity, regulation, and lasting change.
Meet Alexia Zelic, LMFT, ITMHC
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in a little bit of humor. I believe in connecting human-to-human, providing a safe, authentic space where you can show up exactly as you are—untangling the messy, vulnerable parts of life without the pressure to have it all figured out. I am deeply honored to work with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life, and am committed to providing inclusive, identity-affirming care for everyone who steps through my door.
I am an independently licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University and over a decade of experience. I utilize evidence-based approaches clinically proven to help clients break out of "never enough" perfectionism, manage anxiety, and navigate relationship gridlock. To best support you, I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Family Systems, and Infant & Toddler Mental Health.
Outside of the therapy room, I love starting my mornings with a walk to the park with my husband and daughter. I enjoy practicing pilates, spending time with our racing school drop out greyhound, and savoring a good cup of coffee on a cool morning… Of course, when the opportunity strikes, I always love a good reality TV show.
Licensure: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Arizona
